Welcome to my teaching portfolio!

I am a history nerd who loves to learn. This quality has brought me to my practice as a social science teacher. My love for history and social sciences in general stems from the fact that social science as a whole is the study of people. This passion drives me to want to teach this love for history.

I am community oriented and have done a lot of community service. Young people are the creators of change and as an educator, I strive to ignite this potential in my students by showing them the power they hold. My commitment to community involvement was further reinforced when I was invited to the Azores to represent Azorean immigrants worldwide. During this experience, I participated in conferences, learned about modern Azorean culture, and worked to inspire greater youth participation in community initiatives. For me, empowering students to engage with their communities is one of the most vital roles an educator can fulfil.
